Farewell Fat!

Another South Beach Diet Victim

Day 49: Mission Menu

Posted by sbd4sbp on June 3, 2008

One day of being good = one pound lost. W00t!

But I have to confess, I was really not looking forward to going back on this diet after my week off. The thought of restricting my intake again was really bugging me after not worrying about it for several days. But I sucked it up and did it, and you know what?

I had forgotten how easy this diet is.

I just want to reiterate to you all (because some of you, like me, may have forgotten) that South Beach food is absolutely delicious! And you can eat however much of it you want! This morning I had scrambled eggs (1 whole, 2 whites), a slice of whole wheat with Peanut Butter, and a cup of sweet, fresh strawberries. What more do you want?

Honestly, I think the hardest thing about staying on this diet is not that you feel deprived from good foods, just that you have to plan to avoid what’s bad for you. My worst days on this diet are days that I am too exhausted to come home and cook what I’ve planned on the menu, or days when I’m too rushed or busy to get my menu together. It’s those times when the easiest thing to do is fast food or going out that you fall off the wagon. Because guess what: most restaurant food out there is not good for you, diet or no diet.

Anyway, since planning is of the ultimate importance, here’s my plan: Phase I starts again tomorrow. I will miss having sandwiches every now and then, but I know it won’t last forever. I am ready to recommit!

Oh, and for those who missed it: check out the new photos page!
